While I really like the bag and I have both bag sizes, the central strap is something that is killing my wife and myself during our travels.
1) It is too short, why wouldn't you make it at least 3-4 cm longer, as on the longer trips it is quite painful to lock the bag when it is full.
2) There should be 2 straps, not just the central one. I have another bag from a different manufacturer which is waaaay easy to wrap and lock, because there are two straps for it, thus you can wrap the bag and then lock easily the first, then the second, then adjust from both sides, also easily locking the shoulder ties inside.

Overlander 48 l is the perfect volume for my 3 weeks trip around the UK together with the top case for the electronic devices.
Right now I fix it with my old rok straps realy love them On my next trip I will use the straps from the overlander itself.

I wanted a waterproof bag that would hold its shape when empty, apart from a few essentials such as visor wipes and a security device whilst providing lots of room for shopping or storing a helmet. I chose the 30 litre model and it’s perfect, so I leave it on my bike permanently. I like the fact that there’s no zip on the main compartment because of the versatility and reduced faff when accessing items. My son was so impressed he purchased one too. The only downside is I can’t install a steel core strap for security because I don’t use a mounting plate.

Ich nutze die 30L Variante als Ergänzung zu den Seitenkoffern. Leider etwas zu viel Regen hier in Ierland aber die Tasche ist voll in ihrem Element. 100 % wasserdicht kann ich bestätigen. Die seitlichen Griffe sind genial beim tragen durch engen Hoteltreppen usw. Die extra Abdeckung ( Beavertail) ist nützlicher als gedacht hatte. Die Tasche ist Bombenfest am Heck fixierbar. Der hohe Preist bietet ein Produkt das meine Erwartungen übertroffen hat. Gut gemacht, LoneRider!

I love it. I use it for photography equipment. I could the 30l to force me to pack just what I need and the 48 looks like it would add a little too much bulk for my liking. Will probably get that too at some point though. It’s a great bag.

The only issue for me is using the allocated straps to fasten it to my R1300 GS Adventure Top box rack. I can do it but have to use the long straps because of the configuration so different as shown in the video. It’s difficult to get it fastened down tight.
The quality is excellent and I will try and use it.

I took this bag on a 35,000-mile journey from Alaska all the way to Ushuaia on my BMW 1250GSA. It’s been through everything, freezing cold, blistering heat, relentless rain, deep mud, desert sand, salty flats, you name it. Through it all, the bag never let me down.

Je lui trouve quand même 2 défauts:
-la fermeture n'est pas pratique du tout et donc je doute de son étanchéité. On a l'impression qu'il faut bourrer le sac pour pouvoir le fermer correctement. Du velcro aurait été bien utile.
-Concernant les attaches. En complément des 2 sangles fournies (pq pas 4 ?), je voulais mettre des sangles sw-motec avec une partie élastique mais impossible. Les attaches ne sont pas à dimension. Est-ce le sac ou les sangles qui ne sont pas standards?

Overlander 48 sur 1300 GS : Livraison RAS. Produit de qualité, aucun problème d'étanchéité, extrêmement résistant. Sac servant à transporter mes affaires personnelles habits, gants, chargeurs avec des sacs qui séparent les produits. J'ai fait 3 grands voyages soleil pluie grêle poussière sable . Sac lourd, une fois rempli difficile à manier. On dépasse très rapidement les 10 kgs autorisés par BMW si sur porte bagage. Sinon en longueur à la place du passager. Lanières de rechange. Si déchargement journalier je suggère le 30 l moins encombrant. Camel bag utile mais obligation de s'arrêter pour boire. J'ai investi ds un sac à dos 18 l pour boire en roulant. Il faudrait une possibilité pour qu'il reste sur la moto en toute sécurité ce qui permettrait de retirer uniquement un sac léger. Cela s'appèlerait un Top case semi rigide. ce serait parfait. Bon rapport qualité prix.

Ich habe mir die 30-Liter Tasche für die BMW R1300GS zugelegt und bin damit eine 12-Tagestour gefahren und gut ausgekommen. Leider sind die Befestigungsmöglichkeiten am Heckträger der 1300er nicht gerade optimal, aber dennoch hält die Tasche ganz gut. Ein Nachspannen der Gurte ist allerdings immer wieder nötig. Material und Verarbeitung sind hervorragend.

Absolut robust und praktisch und dicht! 14 Tage Balkan mit sämtlich vorstellbaren Wetterkapriolen ohne Probleme überstanden! Einzige Anmerkung: zusätzliche (integrierte Klemmbeleuchtung oder ähnliches wäre ideal, Licht in Zelt, Appartments, .... immer schlechter und wenn dann was gesucht werden muß --> nicht ganz einfach!

So I purchased my Lone Rider Overlander (48l) for a recent 2 week trip from Northern Ireland into and across Europe.
I initially was reluctant to spend the money before the trip asking myself if I really needed to as my Vario luggage had always done the job before.
Anyhow, money spent and bag purchased and I assure everyone I’m glad I did, this bag does everything it ‘said on the tin’. Build quality is excellent and it attaches to the bike very well. (Apart from the one time when I had a bit of a ‘senior moment’ set the bag on the bag and forgot to attach the clips, thank goodness for the extra recommended Steel Core cable )
Anyway if you’re in the market or considering this as a purchase I absolutely recommend.

I used the Lone Rider Overlander 48L on a recent trip and was seriously impressed. Not only did it survive airport customs, but it carried everything I needed for my trip- huge win for travel days. Mounting and dismounting it from my bike was a super easy thanks to the quick-release buckles. Off the bike, the removable backpack straps made it super easy to carry through terminals and around camp. The semi-rigid design and waterproof material kept everything protected. The valve to release air is a game changer, well done Lone Rider. Solid, versatile, and built for real adventure.

Ich habe den Overlander noch nicht am Motorrad befestigt. Das werde ich aber in den nächsten Tagen nachholen.
Aber ich habe ihn als Reisetasche für einen kleinen Ausflug mit dem Auto benutzt.
Ich kann nur sagen, er ist sehr praktisch, gut zu packen und durch die Tragegurte kann man den Overlander wie einen Rucksack tragen.
Ich habe mich für den 30 L Overlander entschieden, weil ich mit größeren Koffern und Topcase auf der kleinen BMW F750 GS schlechte Erfahrungen gemacht habe.
Ich denke mit dem Komplettpaket MotoBags, dem 30L Overlander und den MiniBags hat man genügend Stauraum für die Motorradreise mit oder ohne Zelt.

On the positive side, I loaded it up and went on a three day trip where it rained solid for two of the days. Bag kept everything nice and dry!
3 stars because the straps are too long (all of them, except the ones designed for molle attachment). The distance from bag attachment buckles to rack (Touratech on R1300GS) is maybe two inches, so I end up with most of the strap rolled up and all the buckles interfering with the straps. This makes it impossible to cinch tight enough and the two headed end of the strap (both male and female connector) just gets in the way. Again, not much space between rack and attachment buckle, and now have a useless buckle jammed in there as well. (Yes, I know its to "store" the straps, criss-crossing across the rack when the bag is not on. But seriously, due to length issues, its easier to just take the straps off. And the "off the bike" use case is not the reason I bought the bag). I don't think I'll ever use the backpack straps, so also kinda useless. Finally, the inner liner is so stiff that it reverts to curved, even when full, meaning the bag kinda rolls front to back when on the bike (agin, because the straps cannot be cinched tight enough due to limited space).
